In the Navy!

I have now been in the Navy for 10 weeks, and ok 4 of them have been spent on summer leave but it still counts!
I left on the 27th June after 13 days notice to start my new career. Well I lasted just under 2 weeks before I injured myself and got moved into the rehab Division to recover....good start :)

I tore the abductor in my right leg, and have been doing a training and reahb program everyday so my leg will recover and I can be put back in to training.
I didnt get to do any of the good stuff. I got to do all the paper work and briefs and then hurt myself when it started to get good lol! I have really enjoyed my time so far, even though Im not doing proper training. I love doing my kit and I enjoy marching everywhere lol!! Its brilliant down there, everyone is really nice and Ive made some cracking mates. Im not gonn alie its hard work and its a big shock to the system, getting up at 0545 and being pushed all day but in the end its worth it.

Coming home after 6 weeks away was brilliant. Nothing had change and everyone was still the same, stuck in the same routine, but it felt good to be home and have some sort of a life. I went on holiday for 2 weeks and it was lovely to relax in the Dominican Republic with a book and a glass of Sangria! its been a good 2 weeks at home as well, although Ive spent most of the 2 weeks in the pub! I have never drunk so much!! lol I also went to see We Will Rock You. Its amazing, I loved it. Ive really caught this theatre bug, and hope I can fit it in to see another show when Im home at xmas!!!

Just getting ready to go back now and like I said I wont be home till xmas and even though I'llbe gone for about 3 months I know that when I get home it will all be the same. I will have grown and expericened new things but everyone at home will still be doing the same old, same old.
Makes me glad I joined the Navy and am trying to do something with my life. I also like I get paid to sit in the pub and drink lol!!! Happy Days!!!!! :)

Underwater Digital Cam

I brought an underwater digital camera of eBay last week and its is by far the best camera I have ever owned and I’ve hardly used it lol!

I’m excited for my holiday in the Dominican in 8 weeks time now, just so I can get in the sea and try it out!

I tried it out earlier in the bath while my Bearded Dragon, Arthur, had a soak. Even though I didn’t get many underwater pictures, I managed to get some good close ones of him in the water. He likes to pose to so I got some great ones with great up close detail.

I originally looked at getting an underwater digital camera when I came back from Cuba last year. One of the people we met on a boat trip had one and it looked amazing and I was fed up of buying disposable ones and never getting them developed because I didn’t want to pay for it! Lol!

When I got home and looked they were so expensive and more than I could justify to myself, so I gave up on the idea.

I happened to be on eBay last week looking for a HD dual camcorder/camera and came across a shop selling these underwater cameras for £60!! I did hesitate as it was eBay (not knowing days later I would get my fingers burnt with eBay, wont be using it again might I add) and I didn’t know the condition of the item I would receive but as the item offered a 90 day warranty I felt it was worth the risk!

It paid off because its amazing! Hurry up holiday so I can photo some fishes in the sea!!!!!

World Cup Fever :)

I'm really getting into the build up to the world cup this year. I've never followed the selection of the final 23 and I could not stop refreshing my browser!!

As much as I had my own opinion of who should have been in the squad, as did every England fan, I was really gutted Walcott didn’t make it and shocked that Defoe did over Bent. The main thing is we must have faith in Capello and his selection, we must believe he knows what he’s doing and we must believe that the squad he picked can win it for us.

I feel this year is our year, ok we played rubbish in our last 2 warm up games but the big stage changes thing and I cannot wait to cheer them on. I'll be working for all of our games but I work in a pub so I think that’s kind of a win/win situation! lol! ok I cant drink but Im getting paid to watch my country, hopefully, lift the cup!!!

Im watching 'World Cups Most Shocking Moments' and Crouchy was just asked what World Cup he 1st remembers. For me it was France '98. England didn’t qualify for USA '94 and I was only little during Italia '90. I was in my last year at Junior school and I remember them allowing us to watch England’s Opening game in the school hall. We found the school poster paints and painted the flag on each others faces, put on our England shirts and sat in the school hall and watched the match. It was brilliant. I had also been on holiday to France a few weeks before the tournament kicked off so I had loads of World Cup crap from McDonalds and other French places!!! I don’t remember watching much of the tournament and I don’t remember Beckham’s red card, but I must have watched it with my Dad at home.

I also remember Japan '02 when England played Brazil. Due to the time difference England’s match was at 7:30am!! I remember watching it in bed, I remember watching Michael Owen put us 1 up and jumping on the bed, screaming in my pjs! I also remember pulling the duvet over my face when that free kick sailed into the back of the net :(.

I love the World Cup and I love supporting England. I love how the whole nation comes together as one to show support for the England Lads!

My shirts in the wash, I got the red and white face-paint ready and the flags ready to go up in the window.

Come On Boys, England Expects :)
